Tri Trinh received a Bachelor’s as well as a Master’s degree from Hanoi University of Science and Technology, Vietnam, in 2004 and 2006 respectively. From 2004 to 2009, he was with Vietnam Posts and Telecommunications Group as Access Network Engineer. From 2009 to 2013, he received the AUN/SEED-NET scholarship to study for Ph.D. at the Department of Electrical Engineering, Chulalongkorn University, Bangkok, Thailand. During this time, he was exchanged to be a residential researcher at Esaki’s lab, the University of Tokyo in 2012. After getting his Ph.D. in communications networking, he returned to Vietnam and is currently an Access Network Researcher in the Research and Development Center, Vietnam Posts and Telecommunications Group.

Dr. Tri started working with open networking from 2011 when he implemented Nox SDN Controller and Flowvisor to create network virtualization test-bed for his PhD work. After coming back to Vietnam and working for VNPT, Dr. Tri continues researching on open networking areas and he has led the VNPT research projects collaborating with NTT Labs team to build a CORD test-bed and implement the new technologies such as: spp, dpdk and zero-touch multi-service provisioning to make CORD more feasible for Operator’s requirements.
